This week’s Vlog coincides with the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
President Juan Domingo Perón secretly established escape routes, or ratlines, to smuggle thousands of Nazis out of Europe and into Argentina. This Vlog shows why Bariloche was an obvious choice to escape to. Former SS Officer Erich Pribke wasn’t even hiding out: he was an upstanding member of society, the head of the German school and hadn’t even changed his name.
I dedicate this film to all those who lost their lives during the holocaust as well as the genocides that have taken place in Argentina.
