Venice, Santa Maria Basilica Aerial Tour (4K Footage)

The Santa Maria Basilica is one of the most prominent, yet overlooked landmarks, in Venice. It stands across from Piazza San Marco (St. Mark’s Square), and has been the subject of countless paintings and photographs. Nonetheless, it is a little under visited because getting to it is somewhat difficult unless you ride a water taxi. This is the case because it is located at the very western tip of the southern part of Venice. The basilica complex is expansive and beautiful, and rarely crowded with hordes of tourists. Definitely worth a visit!
Filming in Venice was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I will never forget. I used a Yuneec Q500+ drone to capture the footage of the Basilica Santa Maria. To learn more about this aerial video platform, click this link:

The video was captured at 2880×1440 resolution, and downsized to 1080p for upload to Youtube.

  1. Although a beautiful video, it is so illegal and you were so carelessly and perilously too damn close to the basilica's lantern and statue! No respect for this countries' monuments! Imagine if the drone had crashed on the dome and started a fire? It took very little to start a fire at this city's magnificent opera house, which burned down. Although it was reconstructed, it is not the same as the original.
