Actually Stuttgart is considered one of the Most polluted and ugliest cities, Maybe consider going to Konstanz (Constance) . Its a Pretty small city but it is located next to the lake of Constance and Has also very old Buildings and very nice Places at the Waters. And When already being there you could easily Go to Switzerland aswell for 1 day.

U also have to visit the area around the river Ruhr (Essen, Bochum, Dortmund) call "Ruhrgebiet"… u´ll find some interesting indutrial Scenes, nice green places and cool hot spots… ask Google 😉
