The staggering fishing villages of Cinque Terre cling to cliff faces on the Italian Riviera. A 19th-century railway (the area is largely car-free) slices through their tiers of pastel houses, old-world hotels and leg-shaking coastal paths; white-sand beaches are dotted with candy-coloured parasols; and the winding streets offer some of the most beautiful views in the country. In this video, we explore these hilltop villages and go out onto the water to get a scale of the place.
