  1. Hi there Katie! I'm from Valencia but living in Barcelona and I can confirm you that it was not paella 🙂 In fact, the authentic paella is from Valencia and it is dry, with chicken and rabbit, that is the "paella valenciana", the rest is rice with things, as we like to say XDDDD
I would recommend you to go to L'Albufera, specifically El Palmar, if you want to try a real paella valenciana. Although in Catalunya you can taste some amazing rice dishes too 🙂

  2. Arròs a la cassola is made in a casserole as you say 🙂 and it is from Catalunya, Paella is from Valencia. So you chose right eating Arròs a la cassola in catalunya it is way better than paella in my opinion!
