On Day 27 in Lisbon, Portugal, I manufactured up my thoughts to consume as much Portuguese foodstuff and at some of the greatest regional dining places in Lisbon. It turned out to be a fantastic working day in Lisbon with some severely very good Portuguese foodstuff!

00:36 Cafe Martinho Da Arcada at Praça do Comércio – The very first position we stopped in the morning is a famous cafe in Lisbon that is the oldest cafe in Lisbon known as Cafe Martinho Da Arcada. The major motive I preferred to go there was to try their pastéis de bacalhau, traditional Portuguese foodstuff codfish fritters. The coffee and atmosphere and of the cafe was also great. Full cost – 9.thirty EUR

Restaurante Zé da Mouraria (I imagine it was shut for holidays) – I really preferred to consume at this restaurant all through my take a look at to Lisbon, but regrettably they ended up shut for holidays, so if you go to Lisbon and are searching for regional Portuguese foodstuff, test this position out.

5:32 Restaurante Cantinho do Aziz – For our up coming food, even though not Portuguese foodstuff, but additional Mozambican foodstuff, we headed above to Restaurante Cantinho do Aziz. The foodstuff was impressive, just one of the greatest meals I had in Lisbon. I very first commenced with some beef samosas which ended up insanely very good, and then had spicy bakra piri piri, spicy lamb ribs. Full cost – 35.00 EUR

eleven:fourteen Restaurante A Merendinha do Arco – Eventually, to try some genuine Portuguese foodstuff in Lisbon, we headed above to a restaurant known as Restaurante A Merendinha do Arco. This tiny relatives run restaurant serves tasty Portuguese foodstuff and numerous of the classics. I ordered bacalhau com grão, codfish with garbanzo beans and carne de porco à alentejana, pork with clams. Along with the tasty regional foodstuff, what I cherished was the ambiance and sense of the restaurant. Full cost – twenty.15 EUR

22:ten Oceanário de Lisboa (Entrance cost – seventeen EUR per particular person) – By this point on this Portuguese foodstuff tour of Lisbon, I was experience very comprehensive, so we headed above to Oceanário de Lisboa and walked about just one of Europe’s greatest aquariums.

24:22 Cafe on Avenida da Liberdade (Espresso – 1.40 EUR) – A single of the items I appreciate about Lisbon is the social cafe tradition and ambiance. In the afternoon I was commencing to sense very sleepy, so before evening meal, I had a cup of coffee at an out of doors cafe along Avenida.

25:twelve Photo voltaic dos Presuntos – For the very last Portuguese food in on this foodstuff tour of dining places in Lisbon, I decided to consume at a dining places known as Photo voltaic dos Presuntos. I did not know it was heading to be these kinds of a fancy high close restaurant, but it was our very last night time in Lisbon, so we decided to go for it. I started with the pata negra, a plate of incredibly very good ham. Then I ordered the polvo à lagareiro, some of the most tender octopus I’ve ever had in my existence. Eventually we also ordered dourada grelhada – gilt-head sea bream fish. The foodstuff was expensive, but tasty. Full cost – 60.85 EUR.

This was a fantastic working day of Portuguese foodstuff in Lisbon, and numerous of the spots we ate right now ended up the greatest dining places I tried using in Lisbon.

  1. I am 'hey-no-way" a fan of Africa but after watching all of mark's videos of juicy african food [from the north, to the east, and then to the west] then seeing him come to Lisbon, one can easily start to see the difference in european food — dry, bland and un-delicious! yuck. that lunchtime meal of dry dead bacalao, with dry dead chick peas, and dry dead potatoes were … dry and dead. no sauce no juiciness, no nothing, just dead! poor Europe. stick to more of the eastern and southern world mark, more exotic in flavor spices and creativity in meals.

  2. Yesterday i was at Canthino de Aziz, because i saw your video about it, But the service was bad and to rushy and the bakara piripiri does not look the same as yours, the lambchops where cold. Sorry but one big dissapointment.

  3. Man, you seriously need some table manners!
Been watching a few of your clips, and have to tell you – you are clumsy!

    My remarks:
Try to bend your wrist a bit more while bringing the spoon to your mouth.
Don't try to eat everything with a spoon, forks work beautifully for solid foods.
Hold the fork in the left hand, knife goes in the right one.
Even if you eat with your hands, move your elbow around, so food doesn't drop. Jiggle around.
Watch that your spoon is not overfilled.

I know this is You doing it, and I Thank You, for doing it.
Just a bit of feedback. 😉

    Love you like you are!

  4. To Restaurante Cantinho do Aziz, the best way is used the stairs next to Supermercado Chen on Beco dos Surradores. But it is really steep, not for people with weak hearts or knees…..
    It opens on Sunday!!!!

  5. Restaurante Zé da Mouraria , it only opens M-Sa 12pm-4pm, better be there before 1230pm. Portion is huge!!!! One order is good for 2-3 people! Really taste good! 🙂 The best way to go there is get off at MARTIM MONIZ metro station and walk up through R. Cavaleiros and turn right on R. da Mouraria…

  6. You want another samosa? You want one more?
    Up to you…
Yup…that's what's having an asian girlfriend entails. Don't be mistaken….I love my wife to death….but I could really do without the deference just once in a while.

  7. We in Lisbon now! Your videos have been very helpful thank you from self, mum and dad! Guy at O Martinho da Arcada e Lisboa in Praça do Comércio remembers you and says hi as we ate there! Ciao!
