Our Gear:
We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here

Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

  1. I'd agree that the traffic can be crazy, but my absolute favourite thing to do in Paris is watching the traffic on the Place de l'Etoile from the top of the Arc de Triomphe. 13 roads all converging in one chaotic place.

Apparently ALL car insurance is invalid in that one spot as it is so dangerous to drive.

  2. I spent about a week there, Paris is the most overly rated romanticized city in the world. The people are unfriendly for the most part and there’s just so much better places to spend time. Sure go for a couple of days and stay in your microscopic sized hotel room but then leave and go someplace else.

  3. The "anti-americanism" is a thing of the past, mostly. I remember an american guy, I met in Nice in 1979. When the locals didnt understand english, he started shouting. When that didnt work either, he began speaking english with a horrible french accent, that noone could fathom.

  4. 3 weeks after you published the video, the public transport went from fantastic to pretty much non-existent 😀 But I hope it comes back at some point, because when there is no strike, you really do not need a car here

  5. Back in 1992, the Eiffel Tower was reasonably priced, hardly any queues, and no security checks. How things change! Thats the last time I went to Paris as I was very underwhelmed with it. I love other parts of France though, and will be touring Brittany in May. Thanks Mark and Happy New Year.

  6. I’m currently here in Paris and I agree with each and every one of these. The only problem right now is that the Metro employees are in a strike and the transportation is really bad. Only the busses, the M-1 and M-14 (trains) work and they’re super and extremely packed.
