Park your car or walk to the service station linked below. From here it takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the lookout.

Then walk along the highway about 50 metres, till you see a gap in the fence at the coordinates below
40.998586610767035, -3.6371769812830355

Then keep following the path down to the stream, and walk along the river (with the stream to your right), until you reach a small footbridge at the coordinates below
41.00013508621735, -3.6359745269196995

Cross it, and walk up the hill. The key is to keep walking up the hill until you get to the lookout at the linked location below. As you walk up the hill you will need to climb over or walk through the gab in a stone wall.

Hola, Spain lovers! We’re James and Yoly. James is a New Zealander, and Yoly is from Spain. And we both live in Madrid. 1. Who's been to Madrid's mountains? We'd love to know your favourite villages or spots. Maybe we can make a video back there in summer, when instead of snow, it's all about watering holes and waterfalls 🙂

  2. La calidad de vuestros vídeos ha mejorado muchísimo, y el contenido es más variado.
La Comunidad de Madrid (y las demás) os debería patrocinar este tipo de vídeos. Son geniales.
    Great job!

  3. The ruins that appear on minute 3:32 is the ancient paper factory, in Rascafría, near the Paular Monastery. They said that the paper used to print the first edition of Quijote came from this factory, which was one of the most important in Europe at the time. One important battle field of the civil war in the Alto de León where you can still see the old bunkers, stone walls and traces of trenches.

  4. James, I really appreciate the links to the locations and naming the places you visit so I can pin them on my google map for Spain of the places to visit. It looks like 2022 is probably when I can get the vaccine, so I hope we see you and Yoly then on a Devour Tour!

  5. I think I saw those mountains on my drive from Segovia to Madrid over a year ago, they looked gorgeous from far away, it was in Semana Santa 2019.
I have to go there on my next trip to Spain.
Toda esa comida me ha dado hambre!! Sobre todo esas croquetas.
    Saludos desde NC!!

  6. Hi you guys Amazing! We like a kid in a candy store watching the country side of Madrid. No travelling for Australians so far this year. The bucket list is over flowing. Love you're work and vlogs.

  7. These videos are a beautiful evolution of your channel from the early days (which I have followed from the beginning). Back then it seemed every video was a tapas crawl (which, don't get me wrong, I loved) and really a part of what you were doing with Devour. Now it seems your true passion for Spain and its history is starting to shine, as well as your craft for making these videos is becoming stronger! I can't wait to see where a truly 'unlocked' 2021 (I hope) and beyond takes you!

  8. Temperatures above zero and snow? Damn, where I live sometimes reach -6ªC and when I moved in (in Argentina) it was like -10 or -12ªC but it never really snowed, except for once that was more like a sludge. Even if it we are like 800m above sea level
    It hails a lot though

  9. I love, love, your vlogs. Such an authentic couple who enjoys real food and wine, I wish I could hang out and experience some of your adventures, but I’m content with all of the great information and fun of your vlogs!!!! God bless you and keep safe!

  10. I don't think I could stomach eating a Spanish tortilla for breakfast. I am more of a pancakes, croissant, or toast and jam guy. The whole idea of a usually cold potato omelette kind of turns me off. I love the Mexican tortilla and everything than can go inside it, but the Spanish tortilla is not my cup of tea. Other than that I liked your video. We don't usually think of Madrid as having a particularly interesting surrounding area. I've stayed a few times in the San Rafael area and visted La Granja de San Ildefonso but never to the area you show us. Good job. I loved your visit to Buitrago de Lozoya. Like you, I am a fan of Medieval castle ruins. The name Buitrago de Lozoya rolls off the tongue like poetry. Spain has some poetic names. My favorite is Madrigal de las Altas Torres. James Michener made a point of visiting and it appears in his classic Iberia.
