HOT LANZAROTE HOLIDAYS
You may have heard of Lanzarote but do you really know anything about it? The island’s much maligned reputation is entirely undeserved, as the Lanzagrotty name was meant as a throwaway comment made by Michael Palin. But what the former Monty Python actor didn’t realize is that the name would stick so doggedly to this Canarian Island.
Which doesn’t deserve such an awful soubriquet in anyone’s language.Lanzarote instead should be having its praises sung. As it is not only a beautiful island with a strong connection to its past but it has also avoided the mistakes made in countless other holiday hot spots.
Not for this island the overdeveloped coastlines with high-rise apartments everywhere. Instead, it has three low-key resorts, all of which have something to offer the holidaymaker in search of sun and sea. Lovely beaches, a really good range of facilities and lots to choose from in terms of LANZAROTE ACCOMMODATION. Most recently developed is the town at the southern most end of the island. Visitors will be pleased to find that the vast majority of VILLAS IN PLAYA BLANCA are less than seven years old. Which means they come will all mod cons and luxury features such as hot-tubs and heated pools. At the other extreme, the ancient capital of the island is composed of some excellent examples of colonial architecture, some of which date back to the fifteenth century.
Teguise is like a time machine and visitors who spend a day here will be delighted by its slow-paced charm. As Teguise is located in the centre of the island, most holidaymakers end up discovering it whilst they are out and about in a hire car. Which is not an expensive option for those who like to be mobile as LANZAROTE CAR HIRE is amongst the cheapest in Europe.
Close to the former capital is a much newer village, known as Nazaret. This cliff-hugging conurbation was once chosen as the site for Omar Sharif’s Lanzarote home. The Egyptian actor was very struck with everything about the island and had the most amazing house constructed for his use. Unfortunately for him, he promptly lost the property in a game of bridge. But that is good news for visitors, as it is now open as a museum. Set in amazing gardens, it is one of the best examples of the chic design aesthetic that epitomises Lanzarote.
