Sauerkraut
Ahhh Goose, crispy duck skin……I AM NOW HUNGRY!!!
As I have said in the past, my high school Baking instructor was from Bonn. We never had a "traditional" dinner. It centered around the kids preferences. What was a tradition and still is, is that I bake loads of cookies and stash them in tins. My favorite baked treat is Stollen baked for Christmas morning. I realize that I could bake it anytime of the year but it is Christmas for me. I love it with the center filled with marzipan. Greetings from Idaho!
All meat does German doesn't like to eat seafoods?
I usually do stuffed turkey or ham with mashed potatoes and gravy and dinner rolls and another vegetable side dish. Cheesecake for dessert. But this year, due to health issues I will probably be eating just fish and vegetables (no carp as I am intolerant to it). My dad used to talk about his German grandmother and her Christmas goose dinner. Stuffing recipe from my dad's side has apples, raisins, celery and cinnamon, while the one from my mom's side has oysters, onions, celery and poultry seasoning. Both my parents have a lot of German ancestors, but both families have been in the USA for over 7 generations.
You're a good cook – thank you.
Great video! Thank you!
It all looks delicious and flavorful, the house must smell wonderful.
We have frankfurters…potato salad…red cabbage…hard rolls. This makes me miss my mother.
Wonderful looking food!
I cannot figure out your accent? Are you German and another nationality? It's a very cute accent.
Fröhlich Weinachten, I will be having beer and whiskey. Possibly some food as well.
Wow that looks so good. Love your potatoes salad. I made your chocolate recipe. And strawberry and banana chocolate recipe my kids love the strawberry and banana. Thank you for sharing your recipe. I am going to try more of your recipes. Turkey my family loves it for Christmas dinner.
I think there could be some rude replies to the question posed by this video.
You certainly know your weiners.
This took me back to my time living in Germany ;
Yum.
At the air base at Wiesbaden we had good old American Christmas food, even shrimp cocktails!
I’m from the US but currently living in Luxembourg with my British partner. We have a combined tradition where I get to have my traditional southwestern American dressing and he gets his roasted potatoes. Typically we have a turkey but back home we were able to do a nice prime rib a few times and it was great. Lots of good things to go with and in my family we always had some type of a fruit salad with a heavy meal and was told by my grandmother that this was to help digestion.
Thank you for the great video and all of the food types. As I’m now living in this part of the world I’m interested in trying all of these different things.
