  1. It has never been the goal of the ANC to unite South Africans. The window opportunity has passed. In the years after 1994 there was as tremendous goodwill among all races and a feeling that we wanted to build a nation. Instead of looking forward, using the momentum and fostering one nationhood , the ANC chose to keep scratching old wounds open, demonise certain population groups and create a sense of victimhood in others. Coupled with their looting of state coffers, the state of the country today is the result. One of their fundamental errors was to create public holidays which not everybody could celebrate and then add to that error by using the created holidays as platforms for spreading nationalism for some and hate for others.
