The UK government has announced urgent new measures to stop travellers from South Africa from entering that country after a new coronavirus variant was found there. All flights from South Africa have now been banned. The measures come into effect from 9am on Thursday. Visitors landing in England from this country or those who transited through South Africa in the last 10 days will not be permitted.
