Córdoba (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈkorðoβa]) is a city in the geographical middle of Argentina, in the foothills of the Sierras Chicas on the Suquía River, about seven-hundred km (435 mi) northwest of the Autonomous Metropolis of Buenos Aires. It is the funds of Córdoba Province and the 2nd most populous city in Argentina immediately after Buenos Aires, with about one,330,023 inhabitants in accordance to the 2010 census. It was started on 6 July 1573 by Jerónimo Luis de Cabrera, who named it immediately after Córdoba, Spain. It was just one of the 1st Spanish colonial capitals of the region that is now Argentina (the oldest city is Santiago del Estero, started in 1553). The Countrywide College of Córdoba is the oldest university of the place and the 2nd to be inaugurated in Latin The usa. It was started in 1613 by the Jesuit Order. Since of this, Córdoba earned the nickname La Docta (around translated, “the uncovered just one”).
