Cape Town South Africa. Manufacturing unit Tour of Maverick 440 Catamaran. 1 of our favorite Catamarans.

In this episode, I demonstrate the journey to get from Canada to Cape Town South Africa in which I am instantly whisked off to get a tour of the boatyard that builds the Maverick 400 and 440 Catamaran.

We really like the Maverick 440 and it is priced about appropriate for what Janice and I can likely pay for to buy when we reside complete time on a Catamaran. If you haven’t by now viewed the complete guided tour that we did at the Annapolis Sailboat Clearly show, you need to examine it out by clicking this connection. Then you will see why we like it so a great deal and why it is a single of the boats that we are seriously thinking about getting. The moment you are similarly amazed with the boat you will then want to examine out this manufacturing facility tour of how the boat is created.

There are a ton of episodes of the South Atlantic Sailing voyage that I have completed on a 50′ Xquisite X5 Catamaran. Those episodes will before long follow this a single. You would not want to pass up that epic voyage.

  1. Hi, your video as great! Big improvement! I moved to Ottawa last summer and now bought 16 ft sailboat! Hope to see you on river. I love your idea to go but catamaran for retirement!

  2. Interesting to see the differences between this factory and the xquisite that produces a 1.3M cat, any thought on that? @cruisingoffduty

Thanks for the great video, been waiting for that one too!

  3. Wow Craig, I am highly impressed with the build quality of this boat. Rudy is a super nice guy and a very conscientious builder. I used to be a furniture/cabinet maker and was glad to see the lay up of the wood done the right way and the bending of the layered veneer was impressive! Now to go back and re- watch the boat review form the boat show. Great boat Rudy and great interview Craig and your before and aft picture are ingenious!

  4. I like the details that Maverick puts into their boats like the bed support/ backboard idea. As well as the textured paint on the underside in case of the unthinkable. It shows they are thinking of these things before they are needed. Nice.

  5. Great informative video Craig. You can feel the Maverick Company Owners pride and passion. I bet they have a good company culture there which shows up in their boats.

  6. Using Polyester Resin? I wouldn't buy a glass boat unless it was Vinylester or Epoxy Hull, Poly's ok on the deck and furniture moulds but don't chance it below the waterline.

  7. Great video. Love the owner tour! If I couldn't sail a boat, I would love to be building them for other customers. Great idea to do the picture-in-picture from the previous tour. Looking forward to the series!

  8. The 440 is my personal favourite cat that you guys have featured on your Annapolis tours. I’m even more smitten with it now. She’s a great boat.
