Impressive mountains, exclusive fynbos vegetation, glorious seascapes, wetlands, vineyards, golden fields, citrus orchards, semi-desert, half a dozen character conservation parts and the remarkable bloom of wild flowers in spring – there is much to discover on the South African aspect of the Cape to Namibia route. There is plenty to do, much too: water sports, climbing, 4×4 trails, quad biking, horse riding, chook viewing. And each individual of the minimal hamlets and villages has its record and cultural heritage and a tale to tell. There is much to study about the early inhabitants who still left their mark with rock paintings, the pioneers, the missionaries and not minimum the adventurers who endured wonderful hardship in their quest to strike it wealthy.
