The 58th Vuelta a España (Tour of Spain), a very long-distance bicycle phase race and one particular of the 3 grand tours, was held from six September to 28 September 2003. It consisted of 21 levels covering a whole of 2,957 km (one,837 mi), and was won by Roberto Heras of the US Postal biking team.

Isidro Nozal lead the general classification for much of the race until succumbing to the stress posed by Roberto Heras who shut the gap to Nozal more than the last times and took the jersey in the last time demo. The details jersey was won by Erik Zabel from Germany, the mountain jersey was won by Félix Cárdenas from Colombia and the mixture jersey was won by Alejandro Valverde. was the winner of the team ranking. Alessandro Petacchi, an Italian sprinter won 4 levels.
