The Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt is truly a complete work of art: A unique ensemble of Jugendstil buildings, enchanting gardens, an impressive museum location – and one of the birthplaces of European modernist art. Around 120 years ago, an artists‘ colony was founded here. It would go on to have a formative influence on 20th-Century architecture and design. Today, Mathildenhöhe has a pretty good shot at becoming an UNESCO World Heritage site. Join our host Nicole Fröhlich on a tour of this stunning location.
