Located in Richmond’s vibrant downtown, this hip hotel is surrounded by quaint shops, restaurants and museums. Guests have easy access to some of the soul food restaurants, bakeries and breweries that earned Richmond its title of “America’s Next Great Restaurant-Obsessed Town (bon appetit). Maymont, home to a Victorian estate with pristine gardens, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts are also just a 10-minute drive.
The collegiate and sports themes are more Wes Anderson than corner sports bar. Expect to see mid-century minimalist design with preppy plaid and schoolhouse accents. A collection of vintage, locally sourced art hangs from the walls of almost every area in the hotel.
Cozy guest rooms feature side tables fashioned out of books, a framed over-the-bed print of the archetypal childhood dog (undoubtedly named Fido or Rover), along with subtle decor paying homage to the nearby Virginia Commonwealth University. Even room keys get the quirky treatment — each is a re-creation of a student ID of famous folks associated with Richmond. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle around town, and the VCU campus is just a 10-minute walk away. Guests can also reserve a spot at the rooftop pool for a relaxing swim.
Rates may vary by date, are subject to availability and are not guaranteed until your purchase is complete.
