City Ballet of San Diego closes its season with “Mozart’s Requiem” on Mother’s Day weekend.

The Deal

This full-company, large-scale interpretation of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s final composition is performed with a full orchestra and an 80-voice chorus. Travelzoo members save 40% on tickets to all performances.

The program showcases contemporary works by the company’s resident choreographers Elizabeth Wistrich and Geoff Gonzalez, and includes Claude Debussy’s romantic music, the world-premiere of Battu to a percussion score by Gonzalez, plus Wistrich’s dramatic “Mozart’s Requiem.”

The company is known “for its diversity of dancers” and “lively story ballets” (Pointe Magazine).

Note: Extra fees are $4 per ticket, but that’s the standard charge on all tickets. There’s a free lecture by Artistic Director Steven Wistrich 30 minutes prior to each performance.
