“We went on the flash light night walk and it was great. The guide had many good stories to tell us about the bears. He also educated us on the different types of trees in the area.
We went on the bus tour of Yosemite. The driver was very friendly and enjoyable. We felt like the tour could have been cut short by an hour.”

The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are luxurious. It’s located right next to the south entrance of Yosemite and near the Mariposa Sequoia Grove, which was the main attraction for us since the grove was just reopened after several years of reforestation and renovation of the Welcome Center. However, the hotel is about an hour from Yosemite Valley and the iconic sites there, so that 2-hour round trip travel time needs to be factored in to see Half Dome, El Capitan, Mirror Lake, or the Ahwahnee Hotel. It was perfect for us, though!

Other Comments

I would recommend Tenaya Lodge to anyone, not only for the high-quality accommodations, but especially for the outstanding staff! All of the hiking guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. We plan to come back in the off-season every year.
