Visited for a mini birthday break. Excellent venue, in a good position for travelling around the area.
Afternoon tea was delightful and I can’t complain about the food at all. Too marks to the chef.
All staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

What a beautiful place! Fantastic location and I love the way the original charm has been kept – it’s feels just like it would have in the days of Enid Blyton. A beautiful part of the world with some fantastic walks and amazing views. The food was really nice and the staff, without exception, where polite, approachable and very welcoming. I will be back – just loved it

Excellent food however room was extremely tired, ceiling cracked plaster broken away. central heating not performing as it should- temperature had to supplemented with electric heater. Bathroom was a good size however mould present in shower, water was a good temperature, no fan extraction. Staff friendly and helpful.

We’ve been several times to this hotel. Lovely location.
We paid extra for a sea view room. We weren’t put where we had previously been and the room was extremely cold and a little tired looking.
The staff quickly offered us two alternatives nearer the main area of the hotel. Ended up with a family room. Needed to put on the additional electric heater as radiators tepid. Room quickly warm.
Lovely high tea in front of open fire and fabulous breakfast. Dinner was quite good.
Very nice, attentive staff as always.

A member of staff noticed that I was not enjoying my dinner and asked if everything was alright. I told her about our room and our drinks and we were offered complimentary gin and tonics after dinner. This time they were served in bloom glasses with plenty of ice and lemon and we did enjoy them. The staff were pleasant and breakfast was adequate.

We booked a sea view room and were looking forward to enjoying a lovely view. Our room (number 35) had a view of the roof of the front porch. We did query this and were told that you could see the sea (if you looked round the corner only just). We ordered two gin and tonics that were served in half pint beer glasses with cucumber. We were not offered any choices and we certainly were not happy with our drinks.
