  1. Mexico is my favorite country to visit; I know it is not possible to cram all great sites in a list of 10, but I strongly feel Palenque should have been there somewhere on the top.

    Just to elaborate on my point, Teotihuacan is impressive in size, but it is bland. Palenque contains some of the finest architecture, sculpture, roof comb and bas-relief carvings that the Mayas produced. Its setting is the most romantic. As a tourist Palenque is more interesting to visit than Teotihuacan. Teotihuacan is a day trip from Mexico City and can be included as part of the City visit. No one stays overnight at Teotihuacan, there is nothing around it.
