One of the places you must see in the Philippines is Baguio City. And it’s not just the cool climate that draws tourists to the place, it’s the beauty of the city itself. One feels close to nature when visiting what people call as the “Summer Capital of the Philippines”, and here in this article, we will highlight some of the most popular tourist destinations in Baguio, together with some tips you should follow when you’re staying there.

First stop is Burnham Park. There are lots of things to do here. You can choose to just jog around the area and enjoy the nice breeze, bike (there are bikes for rent in the park), go boating at the lake, go to the park’s playground for the kids to enjoy, or lay down your mat, have a picnic or just lie down to read a book.

During festivals (such as the Panagbenga during February), there are tens of dozens of stalls (tiangge, in the local dialect) set up. Nearby is an old building housing what Baguio is also famous for: ukay-ukay. The term literally means to “dig up”, and what you dig through is the piles of used clothing, shoes and other articles selling for a very low price.

Session Road is also a popular choice for tourists. This stretch is the business center of the city, and you can find a lot of restaurants to eat in, each offering an array of culinary delights, and a host of other establishments (bars, clubs, banks, cafes, boutiques, among others).

Mines View Park is where you go to for a magnificent view of the hills and valleys of the city. Nowadays, there are also a lot of shops built near Mines View Park, so you will not have a problem deciding what to buy as souvenir.

The Strawberry Farm, which is a few minutes away from the town proper, is where tourists go for their fill of fresh strawberries. Picking them yourself is quite an experience, tasting them fresh off the farm is double the fun.

Vegetables is incredibly cheap in Baguio City, so if you’re a vegetarian, then the Baguio City Market is your haven. Fresh broccoli, watercress and parsley is dirt cheap, so you might want to buy some and cook up something healthy and delicious while you’re there. In the late afternoon comes the ukay-ukay peddlers at the market in Hilltop, which locals and tourists alike flock to to get the best bargains.

The taxi is also pretty cheap in this place. The flag down only costs Php25.00 or roughly half a dollar. Plus the taxi drivers are known to be friendly and helpful, so there should be no worries of being duped out of your money. So it’s a pretty good choice if you want to get around a lot. There are jeepneys, of course (the local Philippines transportation) which costs a lot less, and will help you really feel the local atmosphere. There is a wealth of places to stay. Upon arriving, you will not fail to notice people with signs saying “Transient” or “Lodging”, and it’s up to you if you want to save by staying with the houses of the local people or at a hotel, and there are several of them around the town proper.

Those are just some of the things and tips to keep in mind if you are planning a trip to Baguio City. And you should, as it is guaranteed to be an experience of a lifetime.

Yogyakarta is a historical city located in Central Java, Indonesia. It is great travel destination to enjoy cultures, local foods, history, and nature. The native people are friendly here and things are mainly cheap. Yogyakarta has many universities. It is also known as gudeg city and students’ city. Gudeg is the local famous food in Yogyakarta. 5. Bird market and Batik factories and market. The bird market, Ngasem, is just minutes away from Keraton and batik factories. You can visit all at once to save time. Watch the process of batik creation, or try it yourself. There are also many souvenirs of batik sold at the stores.

6. Tamansari Water Palace. It was formerly a palace. The Tamansari now looks like an old damaged building, but you can still explore the rooms, bathing pool, and others. It is located behind the Ngasem bird market. Take a local guide with you.

Hopefully you’ll see that dinner doesn’t have to be boring, and there are weird restaurants of all kinds all around the world.

1.  Alcatraz (Japan)

Step into your cell at the Alcatraz Restaurant in Japan where your evening begins with a lethal injection (a cocktail). You’re surrounded by servers posing as doctors and nurses, and to get their attention, you bang on your cell door. Don’t be surprised if you suddenly find yourself in darkness. The Ithaa restaurant on Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, you literally dine under the sea. This isn’t just some mere illusion. You’re surrounded by glass, with a complete 180 degrees view of ocean life swimming around you. Very beautiful, but maybe a little nauseating if you have any fear of water, sharks, drowning, or recurring dreams of being crushed by water. No reservations for kids under 12.

6. Smallest Restaurant in the World? (Finland)

This restaurant in Finland consists of a small cabin nestled into beautiful flora. There’s ONE table on the inside of this restaurant. If you’re claustrophobic, it may help to use the second table outside on the porch. That’s it. Two tables.

7.  Absolute Blind Dining (London)

Explore your senses by dining completely in the dark. Your servers and guide staff are all blind, as the owners believe they are best suited to the job. They’re carefully trained, but they already have good use of their other senses. You aren’t allowed to move around, so you’re encouraged to use the (lighted) restrooms before settling in to your table. I just want to tell you that this country is more than amazing – this is the most superb place I’ve been to! There is no other Asian country that can be ever compared to Russian Federation. You can book a river cruise, like the Volga river cruise, and enjoy the beauty of the environment and the national heritage of the Empire!

With the recent recession, certain parts of the world have been hit worse than others. One such part is the United Kingdom, which has seen a dramatic drop in the value of the pound. Now is the best time to explore this unique country, but instead of exploring the well traveled paths of London, York and Scotland, head West to North Wales, and in particular the jewel in the North Wales Coast, Llandudno.

The town is – unlike many other places in North Wales – catered to Tourists, with a huge range of llandudno bed and breakfast accommodation, guesthouses, caravan sites and hotels in Llandudno to suit any budget, and budget it is, Llandudno due to it’s location is one of the cheapest part of the country to stay in.

That doesn’t take anything away from the town, as it’s one of the most beautiful parts of the country. On it’s own little peninsula, Llandudno has two shores, the quieter West Shore and the busier and more photogenic North Shore, connected by a couple of roads either around the Great Orme headland or straight accross.

One of the first things you will see when you arrive to the town is the sweeping North Shore, dominated by the Great Orme. Near the Great Orme is Llandudno’s famous pier, one of the few left standing and still working in the UK. On it you will find gift shops, amusement arcades and fairground rides. It’s a testament to the town and business owners to keep it in an excellent condition, and well worth checking out if you’re in the area.

The Great Orme is home to more Llandudno history, where you can descend into the former copper mines. There you can view Llandudno from as early as the third century, as many of Llandudno’s early settlement was on the Great Orme. You will also find St. Tudno’s church on the Orme, one of the oldest churches in Wales.

It’s not just the past, Llandudno is a perfect destination for shopaholics with Parc Llandudno, with a range of popular stores for clothes and homeware. Dotted around the town itself is a large number of bars, restaurant and nightclubs, perfect for those wishing to experience it’s vibrant nightlife.

All in all, Llandudno is a great place to visit for a weekend away, a stop off to elsewhere (such as Ireland, Snowdonia or further afield in the UK), or a long break. There’s plenty to do in the town and it’s slightly off the beaten track. If you want a holiday in a beautiful part of the UK for cheap, then you can’t do much better than Llandudno. Check it out!

If you decide to enjoy the riverboat tour you will get a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty and of Ellis Island. The history of these historical symbols is always an overwhelming emotion as you gaze up on the beauty and remember how the immigrants had to feel when they first laid eyes on their new homeland. How afraid of the unknown they had to be, how grateful for the opportunity to begin a new life in a new homeland and yet how challenged they had to be with the bureaucracy of getting admitted into the United States through the gates of Ellis Island. Emotions will run high throughout this part of the trip, but you will absolutley be thankful you had the opportunity to experience these symbols up close.
